NEC Avio Infrared Technologies introduces
Thermal Camera Module for Security - Surveillance: S200C series
with dedicated six (6) different high performance lenses,
all incorporating the world's first (*1) Optical Image Stabilization mechanism
S200C thermal camera module and six (6) lenses
NEC Avio Infrared Technologies Co., Ltd., hereinafter NEC Avio, (Head office: Tokyo, Japan; President: Masayuki Kawashima) recently announced release of a new long wave Infrared Thermal Camera Module, S200C, specially designed for security camera applications with innovative and high-performance lenses.
The S200C series thermal camera module incorporates a Japan-made detector with the latest technology. There are six (6) different lenses available. Each lens incorporates the world's first (*1) Optical Image Stabilization system (VC *2) for thermal camera and motorized focus mechanism. Two (2) of the lenses include a motorized optical 3x zoom lens mechanism that is remotely controllable. The lenses, coupled with NEC Avio's highly sensitive uncooled VOx Microbolometer make the thermal camera a unique, powerful, and reliable stable surveillance monitoring system.
Optical Imaging Stabilization Mechanism:
The "Vibration Compensation" (VC *2) mechanism absorbs movement to a great extent to minimize the influence from wind induced shaking as well as ground movement caused by passing trains and vehicles when installed on a watchtower or other elevated structures required for clear views.
Thermal Camera for Security:
Image intensification and near infrared active illumination of CCD based night vision devices have some inescapable weaknesses such as noise, response, and distance limitations as they magnify ambient light. On the other hand, thermal imaging overcomes these insufficiencies. Long wave infrared cameras produce an image even in absolute darkness by detecting thermal radiation. There is also far better visibility through smoke, fog or when shooting against light to find something hidden and trigger an alarm system. Integration of thermal cameras is truly effective, less costly, and complements outdoor security sensors and existing CCTV cameras.
S200C series is an ideal choice for perimeter control of critical installations or bushfire hot spot detection. Thermal imaging combined with superb optics, boasting anti-vibration and motorized focus, is truly dependable to build a robust security system.
Key Features
Superb picture quality
- Long wave infrared detector: 320 x 240 Japan-made uncooled VOx microbolometer
- Temperature resolution (NETD): <40mK (when used with F=1.0 lenses)
- NICE (NEC Avio's Integrated Image Correction and Enhancement): Automatic and variable optimal gain control by NEC Avio's original image processing algorithm
- S/N improvement and image enhancement (averaging and sharpness)
Optical Imaging Stabilization Mechanism
The world's first. "Vibration Compensation" (VC *2) mechanism is incorporated to optically minimize blur and smearing effects from physical vibration to the camera. As it literally absorbs shaking movement, it is less susceptible to adverse weather conditions and installations such as being mounted to pole, thus ensuring the camera continuously captures stable and clear images.
- Normal
- OIS (VC) activated
Optical 3x Zoom Mechanism (S200C/S210C -Z015, S200C/S210C -Z035)
Optical zoom mechanism is useful and compelling for applications and locations where target objects need to be detected and captured from a remote distance and zoomed close up for better identification. Together with the motorized focus mechanism, control and adjustment of image is easily accomplished by remote control. In combination with digital 4x zoom feature, the camera zooms up to 12x magnification to examine targets.
Applications
- Perimeter control and surveillance around critical installations, intruder detection and prevention, risk and safety management in hazardous environment and restricted accessibility
- Public infrastructure, governmental and private buildings
- Transport systems, tunnel, bridges, harbors, power plants, dams, piers, prisons
- Warehouses, garbage pits, industrial waste disposal facilities, container yards, port terminals
- Wildfire detection, wildlife observation and poaching control
- Riot reconnaissance and anti-terrorism operations
